Before your scheduled appointment, our team will review the referral information and medical records provided by your primary veterinarian.Please follow any specific preparation instructions provided by the WTVS team, as these may vary depending on the specialty service, diagnostic procedure, or treatment your pet is scheduled to receive.
Preparing for Your Pet’s Visit
Follow fasting instructions carefully.
Some procedures, diagnostic tests, and sedation or anesthesia may require your pet to fast before arrival. If fasting is required, our team will provide specific instructions before your appointment.
Give medications as instructed.
Unless you have been instructed otherwise, continue your pet’s medications as directed. If any medications need to be withheld before a procedure, the WTVS team will provide those instructions.
Bring your pet safely secured.
Dogs should arrive on a secure leash, and cats and other small pets should arrive in an appropriate carrier.
Bring any requested medications or information.
If our team has asked you to bring medications, previous diagnostic information, or other materials, please have those with you when you arrive.
Medical Records
Your primary veterinarian will provide the medical records, laboratory results, and diagnostic information needed for your pet’s referral.If the WTVS team determines that additional information is needed before your pet’s visit, we will coordinate with you or your referring veterinarian.
When You Arrive
Please arrive at the time provided by our team and follow any check-in instructions you received when your appointment was scheduled.Because WTVS is a referral-only specialty practice, your pet’s visit is coordinated in partnership with your primary veterinarian. After your pet’s evaluation or procedure, we will communicate relevant findings and recommendations with your referring veterinary team.
