West Texas Veterinary Specialists provides state-of-the-art mobile internal medicine, mobile surgery, and oncology teleconsultation for your canine and feline patients— exclusively in partnership with you, the veterinarian. WTVS does not meet directly with pet owners. All communication, case discussions, and follow-up are coordinated through the referring veterinarian to ensure continuity of care and to maintain your trusted veterinary-client relationship.
West Texas Veterinary Specialists provides internal medicine services directly through Kirk Sears, DVM, DACVIM. Surgical and oncology services are offered in collaboration with independent board-certified specialists, allowing advanced consultation, diagnostics, and treatment within your hospital. This model enables patients to remain in a familiar environment while giving your practice access to specialty-level expertise without the need for referral to a distant specialty center. Based in Lubbock, WTVS proudly serves veterinarians throughout West Texas and the surrounding region, including the South Plains, Permian Basin, and Panhandle.
We are committed to delivering the highest level of mobile specialty diagnostics and care, characterized by professionalism, reliability, and compassion. Every patient is treated as though they were our own, and every partnership is handled with respect for your pivotal role as the primary veterinarian.
If you have any questions about how WTVS can assist in the care of your patients, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly.

Veterinary Specialists:
Board certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine
A board-certified veterinary internal medicine specialist provides advanced diagnostic evaluation and management of complex diseases involving a patient’s internal organ systems. Areas of focus include gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, urinary tract, hematologic, respiratory, and cardiovascular systems.
These cases often require specialized diagnostic testing—such as abdominal ultrasound, endoscopy, echocardiography, cytology, or advanced laboratory work—and tailored treatment plans based on your patient’s individual needs. The goal is to collaborate closely with veterinarians to support case management, enhance diagnostic accuracy, and improve patient outcomes through specialty-level treatment options.

Veterinary Surgeons:
Board certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons
A board-certified small animal surgeon is a veterinarian with advanced training and expertise in performing complex surgical procedures for dogs and cats. After completing veterinary school, these specialists undergo several additional years of intensive training through internships and surgical residency. They must also publish research and pass a rigorous board examination to earn certification from the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS).
Board-certified surgeons are highly skilled in both soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, using specialized techniques and equipment to provide the highest level of surgical care. They often work in collaboration with the primary veterinarian to ensure safe, effective treatment and post-operative care that provides the best possible outcome for their patients.
